Instructions
Step 1
To knit baby pants for a child under one year old, you will need circular knitting needles and 5 knitting needles with which socks are knitted, and with the same number. It is advisable to select the needles of the same manufacturer so that they are absolutely identical. The knitting will be seamless, and therefore it is better to knit the legs on circular knitting needles, and in the hip area you will have to switch to "socks".
Step 2
Cast on 80 stitches, knit the first row and fasten the edges together. Knit the next 6 rows with knit stitches. In order for the upper edge for the elastic to be beautiful, in the form of teeth, follow the scheme "2 loops together, 1 yarn over." Then continue knitting until where the transition to the pant legs begins.
Step 3
Divide the number of loops into two equal parts and, for convenience, leave the circular needles on one leg, and continue working with 5 needles with the same number. Knit all the loops with the front, and the inside will remain the wrong one. Moreover, later the drawing can be selected depending on the more aesthetic appearance of the product. That is, given that the pants are seamless, they can be worn on either side. When knitting baby clothes, pay attention to how tight the garment becomes. It is advisable that the pants are tied in a loose knit, as this gives them softness and comfort.
Step 4
First knit one leg of the required length (depending on the characteristics of the child). After finishing knitting with the main pattern, finish the pant leg with an elastic band. Knit 6 rows with regular rib "K1, P1", then complete the last row. Repeat the same operations for knitting the second leg.
Step 5
Thanks to the resulting teeth, which will be at the waist, the hem for the elastic holds well. Of course, it must be sewn by hand or on a typewriter. If you do it very carefully or with decorative elements, you get reversible pants with a different pattern. As an additional decoration, it is permissible to insert a woven cord with tassels or bells into an elastic band.
Step 6
You can knit baby pants with plain threads or with a strip that can be put in at regular intervals or only along the bottom of the product.
