Shorts are a great outfit for both the beach and the office, you just need to choose the right model and fabric. Even a novice dressmaker can cut out the shorts on his own.
It is necessary
- - a large sheet of paper;
- - pattern-base of classic trousers;
- - pencil;
- - ruler;
- - scissors.
Instructions
Step 1
To build a pattern for shorts, you need to create a pattern-base for classic women's trousers. Instructions on how to build it can be found at https://www.kakprosto.ru/kak-91888-kak-postroit-vykroyku-klassicheskih-bryuk. After it is ready, you can start modeling future shorts.
Step 2
Measure the length of the item. It can range from knees to mid-thighs. Lower the waistline by 3-5 cm.
Step 3
Mark the pocket entry line on the front piece. Draw a line diagonally, 3 cm away from the side line towards the middle and 12-15 cm down.
Step 4
If you want your shorts to be a little flared and loose, draw a straight line from the dart. Cut the piece along this line and push it apart, with the point on the waist line aligned.
Step 5
Build the burlap pocket detail. Attach the front detail to a piece of paper and circle the line of the entrance to the pocket. Depart from the top point 2 cm to the side, and from the bottom - 6-7 cm to the side and 2-3 cm down. Connect these points with a smooth line.
Step 6
Make a pattern for the belt and belt loop. The pattern of the belt loop is a rectangle 3x5 cm. The belt is a rectangle equal to the waist circumference plus 6 cm and 6 cm wide. The width of the finished belt will be 2 cm. If you want to cut the belt wider, then increase the width of the part accordingly. It should be equal to the desired waistband width multiplied by 2 plus 2cm for seam allowances.
Step 7
The paper pattern of the shorts is ready. Lay it out on the wrong side of the fabric and circle it with chalk. Cut all the details, leaving 1 cm seam allowances along the side cuts and the waist line. For hemming the bottom, leave 3-4 cm. Cut out the details of the belt and belt loop without allowances (they are included in the pattern itself).
Step 8
Cut out the burlap of the pocket from the lining fabric, and the corner of the side seam above the entrance to the pocket from the main one.
