It is necessary

  • - guitar;
  • - sandpaper;
  • - grinding sponge;
  • - grinder machine;
  • - wood putty;
  • - primer for wood;
  • - velor roller;
  • - nitro or acrylic paint;
  • - nitro lacquer.

Instructions

Step 1

First, disassemble the guitar completely, remove all accessories and carefully remove it away so as not to lose anything. Then clamp the deck to the floor and peel off the old paint. To do this, use a sandpaper, orbital or any other sander.

Step 2

To facilitate the process, treat the surface with a special paint remover or acetone. Please note that after this, the surface must still be sanded.

Step 3

If the guitar has chips, dents or dents, be sure to putty them, having previously primed the surface. Use woodworking adhesive primer as a primer. Apply with a small velor roller or brush (there may be streaks from the brush).

Step 4

After the soil has dried, take a putty and start to patch up all defects. You can use alkyd or automotive putty, as long as it forms a smooth surface.

Step 5

Sand the guitar so that it shines like a mirror. Prime the surface again and finish lightly with a hand-held sanding sponge (grit 220-400). Wipe the deck with a damp cloth and dry. Now you can start painting the guitar.

Step 6

Choose a paint depending on the selected pattern, it is better to buy an imported good nitro paint in an aerosol can, or acrylic paint.

Step 7

Before painting, screw a stick to the deck where the neck is attached (through the bolt holes) so that you can keep it suspended. Cover the fretboard with masking tape.

Step 8

Apply a layer of paint using stencils or by hand drawing on the guitar. Wait for the paint to dry.

Step 9

Cover the guitar with varnish in several layers, each time waiting for the previous layer to dry. Sand each layer with fine sandpaper or a sanding sponge. You can use a varnish from a balloon or nitro varnish, but it is better to choose a varnish for outdoor use, it is marked "НЦ 1хх".
