Citrus fruits have won their fame for a long time. If only because they effectively help the body in the fight against infections and instantly make up for the lack of vitamins. And they are stored for quite a long time without prejudice to freshness and vitamin content. Orange, as one of the brightest representatives of the citrus family, contains the main vitamins C, A and B, which helps to maintain a person's immunity in good shape. Step 1

Before the actual drying process, the first thing you need to do is wash the oranges in cold water and wipe dry. For drying, take oranges, 3-4 glasses of sugar and a glass of water. Cut the oranges into wedges. And to reduce their bitterness, boil them in water for only 1-2 minutes. After that, transfer them to cold water and soak in it for two days. Remember to change the water while doing this.

Step 2

After two days, place the oranges tightly together in the cooked dish. Cook sugar syrup at the rate of 1 kilogram of sugar per 15-17 liters of water, i.e. the syrup should be much weaker than the usual canning syrups, such as berries.

Step 3

Pour the hot syrup over the cooked citrus fruits. Keep them in it for several hours, then put on low heat for 5-7 minutes. Let the fruit cool and marinate in its own juice for 10 hours. Then return the pot to the fire again. The procedure is repeated 3 times. The preparatory phase is now over. You can go directly to drying.

Step 4

Ideally, special devices called electric dryers are best suited for such a process. But in the absence of such, an ordinary oven will do. Place the orange slices on a baking sheet and place in the oven for an hour at a temperature of 70 degrees. Important: periodically remove the baking sheet and let it cool. This is to avoid overdrying the oranges.

Step 5

There is also an easier way. Place the orange slices on a flat surface (such as a table) and leave them in a well-ventilated area. And wait for them to dry, turning them periodically to dry them better.

Prerequisite: Store dried oranges only in a dry place.

Step 6

Please note that if you use a household electric dryer, then you should not fill its lower tier with oranges, they will inevitably dry out. Do not set the device to the maximum and do not keep the fruit for more than 5 hours, if for some reason the oranges have not dried, then repeat drying after the slices have completely cooled down.
