Crafts made from dried oranges look expensive and original, but the consumables themselves are cheap and are almost always at hand. Citrus slices can be used to decorate windows and tables on New Year's Eve, create various garlands, decorative wreaths and much more. And most importantly, it is very easy to dry oranges and other citrus fruits.
It is necessary
- - oranges;
- - a sharp knife;
- - awl;
- - clothespins or paper clips;
- - plain and corrugated cardboard;
- - glue;
- - stationery knife.
Instructions
Step 1
From regular cardboard, cut two rectangles 30 cm long and 10 cm wide, and then use an awl to make holes that should be close to each other.
Step 2
Now, from corrugated cardboard, cut two strips 10 cm long and 2 cm wide, glue them to the ends of the perforated blanks.
Step 3
Use a sharp knife to cut the oranges into thin slices 2-3 mm thick. Then they will turn out transparent, will not lose color and will dry evenly. Then rub the orange slices with a paper towel to remove any juice that has come out.
Step 4
Place the prepared orange slices between the two cartons, spreading them out, at a short distance from each other to avoid sticking during the drying process. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon to add flavor to citrus fruits. Then clip the entire structure on the sides with clothespins and send it to the battery.
Step 5
With this drying, the slices are not curved, but perfectly even, which makes it easier to use them in further decor. And if you place the dryers not on the battery, but between them, then you do not need to turn anything over - everything will dry evenly anyway.
Step 6
Let the oranges dry for 2-3 days and then remove from the dryer. But proceed very carefully, since the slices are very brittle, it is better to tear them off the cardboard with a clerical knife.
