Geranium is a beautiful indoor plant, which is one of the most common due to the fact that the flower does not need any special conditions of maintenance and care.

It often happens that the leaves of a lush geranium begin to dry. It is not difficult to understand why a flower has such an ailment.

If the lower leaves of the geranium turn yellow, their edges are slightly dry, but the leaves are quite elastic, the reason is a lack of moisture. Most often this happens due to insufficient watering, or due to the location of the flower in direct sunlight. This can also happen due to the problems of the plant with the root system, the solution in this case is cutting and rooting of cuttings.

If geranium leaves become lethargic and fall off, then the reason for this phenomenon is an excess of moisture. If, at the same time, there are reddish spots on the leaves, then this indicates that the plant has undergone a significant temperature drop. To solve the problem, it is necessary to limit watering of the flower and move it (in winter) away from the window.

Another reason for the drying of geranium leaves is the transfer of a flower from open ground to an apartment and vice versa. After the plant has slightly acclimatized, the drying of the leaves stops by itself.

To prevent the flower from dying in winter, it needs to create certain conditions: give diffused light, cool (the temperature should not exceed 15 degrees), water it once every two weeks, and little by little and exclusively in the morning.

If the conditions for keeping geraniums are within normal limits, but the leaves of the flower continue to dry, then the possible cause is fungal diseases, for example, rust damage. If there are red-brown spots on the leaves, then the solution is to spray the flower with a special antifungal agent, for example, a five percent Bordeaux liquid.
