Many fishermen know that good fishing requires a good rod, line, bait and float. With the help of the float, you can determine whether there is a bite or not. This is very important, especially if you are doing the so-called "passive fishing", when the rod is on the support, and you are resting on the sidelines and waiting for a bite. You can make yourself a good float yourself by reading this instruction before.
It is necessary
- Finely dispersed polyfoam;
- File;
- Knife;
- Glue;
- Sandpaper;
- Toothpick;
- Steel wire;
- Sinker;
- Waterproof black paint.
Instructions
Step 1
So, all the materials are ready - you can start. Take a piece of finely dispersed polystyrene with dimensions 12x1x1 cm, use a file or a knife to give it a spindle shape. Now take sandpaper (the finer the grit, the better) and sand the surface of the workpiece until it feels smooth to the touch.
Step 2
After making the workpiece for the float itself, you can start making fittings. To do this, take a piece of thick and strong steel wire with a diameter of about 1 mm. The length of the piece should be 4-4.5 cm. This will give you a rod for attaching the float.
Step 3
Now take a wooden toothpick and place a small ball or bead of some bright color on it so that it is clearly visible. A line loop can be made from a piece of copper wire.
Step 4
After that, use an awl to make holes in the workpiece, grease all parts of the fittings well with glue and insert them into the corresponding holes on the foam workpiece. Wait until the glue is completely dry.
Step 5
The float now needs to be painted. It is better to use a waterproof black varnish for this purpose. Just don't paint over the top or paint it white. It is better to apply a bright red paint to the antenna.
Step 6
To top it off, weight the float so that only the tip with the antenna sticks out when immersed in water.
