A tunic is a very practical piece of women's wardrobe. It goes well with leggings, shorts or skinny pants. And besides, it can be worn as a dress. It is suitable for women of different complexions, and to sew a tunic, you do not need to have excellent tailoring skills.
It is necessary
- - a large sheet of paper;
- - tape measure;
- - ruler;
- - pencil;
- - scissors.
Instructions
Step 1
To build a pattern for a tunic, take your measurements correctly. You will need to measure with a tape measure the desired length and width of the future product and the girth of the hips.
Step 2
Set aside from the left right corner down the measurement of the length of the product and the same measurement multiplied by two. Through these points, draw two lines parallel to the top edge of the pattern.
Step 3
From the top of the right corner to the left, set aside the measurement of the width of the product to the right. Draw a perpendicular line through this point.
Step 4
Determine the midpoint of the resulting rectangle. From it, set aside 9.5 centimeters in each direction, 2 centimeters towards the back and 21 centimeters towards the front. Connect the dots with a smooth line. This will create the neckline.
Step 5
From the point of the middle of the rectangle, set aside in both directions a value equal to the measurement of the circumference of the hips plus 10 centimeters divided by 4. Draw a perpendicular line.
Step 6
From the line of the middle of the rectangle (shoulder line), set aside the front and back of the desired sleeve width. The pattern for the base of the tunic is ready. It can be done directly on the fabric. But if you are going to sew several things, then cut them out on paper. Thus, it will be easier to model the product, and you can use this pattern many times.
Step 7
Tunic neckline can also be round, square, V-shaped. Leave small incisions on the sides for free step. For a tunic made of thick fabric, which is going to be worn in the cold season, you can cut out a sleeve. The pattern for it will be a rectangle, the length of which will be equal to the desired length of the sleeve, and the width - the size of the armhole.
Step 8
After you have built the final pattern, lay it on the wrong side of the fabric, which should be spread out in one layer. Circle with a remnant or tailor's chalk, cut out the part and start sewing.
