Tunics very quickly gained popularity among women, although they entered the fashion world relatively recently. Today, no fashionista's wardrobe can do without this functional, stylish, comfortable and feminine garment. It can be worn as a robe or as a summer beach dress, it goes well with trousers, jeans and leggings, and some tunics are so beautiful that they can easily become an evening dress. You can sew a tunic yourself, you just need to correctly draw its pattern.
It is necessary
- - Whatman paper or wallpaper;
- - pencil, felt-tip pen or marker;
- - tape measure;
- - pattern.
Instructions
Step 1
Before you start building a pattern, you need to take measurements. To do this, ask someone to help you. Put on the underwear that you plan to wear under your tunic. Tie a thin cloth tape around your waist to make it easier to take measurements at the waistline. For a tunic, you need to know the length of the sleeve, the length of the shoulder (from the base of the neck to the extreme point of the shoulder), the circumference of the neck, the depth of the armhole, the length of the back to the waist, the length of the tunic from the waist and the circumference of the hips.
Step 2
After all the measurements have been taken, you can proceed directly to drawing the pattern. Take a large Whatman paper or a piece of wallpaper of the required size and in the upper left corner, draw a point with a pencil and draw horizontal and vertical lines from it.
Step 3
Then, to the right, set aside 1/3 of the semicircle of the neck + 0.5 cm, the length of the shoulder and the length of the sleeve (about 20 cm). After that, set aside 2.5 cm down, the length of the back to the waist and the length of the tunic from the waist. Draw a horizontal line to the right from the bottom point and set aside ¼ of the hip girth and an increase in the freedom of fitting 7 cm using the template, draw a side line, connecting the extreme points of the shoulder, hips and bottom lines, and model the neckline of the front of the tunic. In addition, draw the trims for the back and front of the tunic, and then reshoot them on tracing paper. Lay out the resulting parts on the fabric, leave about 3-4 cm for sewing and cut along the marks.
Step 4
For the drawstring, cut out a strip of fabric 4 cm wide (when finished, its width will be 2-2.5 cm), measure its length along the dotted lines on the pattern of the back and front of the dress. Tuck the drawstring on all sides and stitch on the seamy side of the tunic, leaving room for the elastic. Its width will be approximately 2 cm. It is adjusted to the front of the tunic with two vertical stitches.
