Ready-made tunic patterns can be found on the Internet or in sewing magazines. However, it is useful to learn how to make such a drawing yourself. Then you can modify the style depending on your own taste, style and parameters of the figure.
Instructions
Step 1
Place a dot in the upper left corner of the pattern paper. Draw horizontal and vertical lines to the right and down from it. Use a tape measure to measure the sleeve length of your tunic. To do this, attach one end of the tape to the neck (between the collarbones), and stretch the other along the arm raised parallel to the floor to the desired level. Define this segment from the point along the horizontal ray. Then lower the end of this line down by 3 cm.
Step 2
Determine the depth of the front and back of the tunic. First, measure from the shoulder (directly at the neck) down to the desired level. Step down the same number of centimeters from the starting point of the drawing. Then make the same measurement for the back and reflect the result on the pattern. Measure the width of the cutout horizontally to the right. It can be 7 cm or more. Connect the points obtained on the horizontal and vertical with smooth arcs.
Step 3
Lay down the length of the tunic vertically. To recognize her, place a measuring tape from the shoulder over the chest down to the desired level. Usually the tunic covers the thigh or goes down below. Measure the same amount on the drawing.
Step 4
Without lifting your pencil from the paper, draw a horizontal line to the right. Its length should correspond to the width of the future wardrobe item. Determine the girth of the hips, divide by 4 and add 5-10 cm to the result. The number of extra centimeters affects how loose the tunic will be as a result. Set aside the same distance on the diagram at waist level.
Step 5
Return to the point that marks the end of the sleeve. From it, set aside the width of this part of the blouse straight down. On average, it can be 10-15 cm. Connect this point with a smooth concave line with the ends of the segments on the waist line and the bottom line of the tunic.
Step 6
You can sew different cuts of tunics using this pattern. Draw a drawstring at your waist or under your bust to keep your garment looser. Increase the width of the neckline and move it to one side to expose the shoulder. Make the hem of the tunic asymmetrical by cutting it off at an angle.
