A good pencil case should be easy to handle and easy to make

It is necessary

Thick fabric, spool of thread, needle, pins, scissors, sewing machine

Instructions

Step 1

Make a soft pencil case. It is completely silent in use and, I would like to hope that the school teacher will be very grateful to you. Such a pencil case can be sewn in a matter of hours, and you can use it at least your whole life. The selected model is easy to use because the pencil case is always ready for use - it does not have a lid, straps, buttons or Velcro. This circumstance will significantly save time for work and will not interfere with a sudden surging inspiration.

Step 2

Start by measuring the pocket in your student's portfolio where it will be convenient for him to carry a future pencil case. Cut an appropriately sized rectangle out of thick fabric. Woolen fabrics or even old jeans will do. This will be the base of the pencil case. But to keep it tight, cut out two or three more rectangles of the same size. Fold all the rectangles together and sew around the perimeter on a sewing machine or sew on your hands, pre-processing and tucking the edges.

Step 3

Cut the pocket of the pencil case so that it is a few centimeters shorter than the base of the pencil case in length and several centimeters more than the base in width. This is necessary so that you can sew on it with compartments for pencils, pens and a ruler 3-4 cm wide. The result should be a kind of bandolier. Remember to pre-trim the edges of the pocket. The fabric for it can be chosen in contrast to the base.

Step 4

In the widest compartment of the pocket, which is approximately 4 cm, insert a ruler with an eraser, in the adjacent, narrower ones, put pencils and pens, two in one compartment. Insert a compass if necessary. Densely filled compartment - protection and guarantee for its contents from falling out.
