Belly dance looks spectacular and bewitching not only because of the beautiful and feminine plastics and smooth movements, but also thanks to the bright and richly embroidered costumes, elements of which emphasize the dancer's movements, decorating and complementing them. Not a single belly dance costume can be called complete without a hard belt, variously decorated and focusing the audience's attention on the movements of the dancing girl's hips and belly.

Step 1
There are different types of hard dance belts - you can choose the shape of the belt that suits you. The bottom edge of the belt can be rounded or triangular, there are also belts with a figured cut out top edge, and sometimes the front and back of the belt differ in shape, and this can also decorate your costume.
Step 2
When cutting out a belt for belly dancing, do not forget about darts - thanks to them, a hard belt will fit tightly and neatly on your figure. Use any thick fabric as a base for the belt - for example, denim, tapestry, or sideboard.
Step 3
You will also need glue interlining, decorative fabric with which you will fit the front side of the belt and jewelry: beads, beads, sequins, rhinestones and much more. Draw a pattern on paper with the selected belt shape, trying to make it symmetrical, and then transfer the pattern to a thick base fabric and cut without leaving any seam allowances.
Step 4
For strength, join together the pattern of the belt on the bead with the pattern on another thick fabric using a "gossamer" fabric, gluing the parts with an iron. Sew the glued waistband pieces while guiding the machine in arbitrary directions to reinforce the workpiece.
Step 5
Take the decorative fabric that you want to wrap around the belt. If the fabric is very thin, duplicate it from the inside with glue doublerin. Place a piece of fabric face down on a table in front of you, and place a stiff base for the belt on top of the fabric.
Step 6
Trace the contour of the belt with chalk, leaving allowances for the hem on the left and right edges, and then, without cutting anything, gently pin the fabric with pins, tightening the rigid base of the belt. Baste the piece by hand and machine the base with the facing fabric.
Step 7
Cut off the excess fabric that remains after tightening the belt with tailor's scissors, fold the edges to the wrong side and hem the allowances. Sew the upper and lower edges of the belt with a bias tape, matched to the tone.
Step 8
Now you just have to decorate the belt, guided by your own taste and imagination. Make a beautiful beaded embroidery on the belt, sew on the fringe. Use trouser hooks and Velcro for belt fastening.
