Belly dance is a very beautiful oriental dance that attracts the views of not only men, but also women. Smoothly moving and energetically working the abdominal muscles, the dancer is able to seduce any man. A properly chosen costume plays an important role in the dance. It consists of a belt, bodice (upper part) and a skirt, or wide trousers (lower part). The bodice is the most beautiful and important part of the costume. But it can be the most difficult to pick up, therefore, it is much easier and more profitable to sew a belly dance bodice yourself.
It is necessary
- - regular bra;
- - decorative fabric (it is best to take elastic);
- - scissors;
- - needle and thread;
- - pins;
- - decorative fastener;
- - dense fabric;
- - corsage tape for straps
Instructions
Step 1
Cut off the straps from the bra. You won't need old straps as you will replace them with new ones.
Step 2
Gently sew a decorative cloth over the cups and sides of the bra. To do this, attach the fabric to the upper edge of the bra and slowly pin it with pins strictly along the entire contour of the cup. Try to pull the fabric very tightly so that there are no wrinkles. In those places where it is not possible to stretch the fabric well, folds appear, make a small dart.
Step 3
Pin the fabric to the sides of the bra, and cut off any excess fabric. Just remember to leave a couple of centimeters for the seams.
Step 4
Bend the seams inward and pin them down, brush them gently. After that, place the edges of the fabric on top of each other between both cups, pin and make a small, barely visible seam.
Step 5
Sew the fabric to the base by hand, or use a sewing machine. Process all darts with blind seams so that nothing can be seen from the front side.
Step 6
Take the tape and measure the length of the straps you need on it. Add another five centimeters to this length, which will be spent on sewing. Use an adhesive tape of the same length. Peel off the paper and place the glue side down on the wrong side of the fabric. Carefully run over them with an iron, then cut them out along with the allowances. Fold them over and sew the straps, which you then stitch to the bodice. Don't forget to sew on the decorative clasp.
Step 7
Show your imagination by embroidering the bodice with beads, beads, coins, sequins and rhinestones. Remember an important rule: the more beads on the bodice, the heavier it becomes, hence the greater load goes on the straps of the bodice. Therefore, try not to cut the straps into your shoulders.
