In most models of knitted clothes and many other items that can be knitted using knitting needles and yarn, it is necessary to decrease or add loops to achieve the desired shapes and outlines of parts. Every beginner and experienced knitter should be able to add loops in knitting, and in this article we will show you how to do this correctly in several different ways.
Instructions
Step 1
Depending on the model of the product, loops can be added both along the edges and in the middle of the canvas. Add loops on the right side of knitting.
Step 2
In order to add loops at the end of the row, knit the last loop with the knit. The loop should remain on the left spoke. After that, knit it with the front crossed stitch. If you want to add stitches at the beginning of a row, place a knitting needle in the first loop of a row, then pull the thread and leave the loop on the left knitting needle.
Step 3
If you want to add several loops at once at the beginning of the row, insert the knitting needle into the first loop of the row and pull the thread. Transfer the resulting loop to the left knitting needle and repeat the required number of times. In a similar way, you can add several loops at the end of the row.
Step 4
Grab the working thread with your right knitting needle, wrap it around your left index finger and guide the right knitting needle under the thread. Grab the loop and tighten on the right needle.
Step 5
In some products, you need to add loops right inside the canvas. To do this, also add loops from the front. To add one loop within a row, grab the thread between the two loops of the previous row with the left knitting needle and knit the crossed front loop.
Step 6
In addition, you can knit two new loops from one loop in turn. In order to add two loops inside the row, knit three loops - pick up the broach with the left knitting needle between the two loops of the previous row, and then knit in turn the front, purl, and again the front loop.
Step 7
Also in the middle of the canvas, you can add loops using purl loops. To do this, knit one stitch with the front one, and then knit it on the wrong side. After that, knit two loops with purl stitch, and knit the loop following them with the front one. Without removing it from the left knitting needle, knit with a purl.
