Two-tone knitting has its own nuances. For example, you cannot add or subtract loops in the traditional way. Since it is impossible to change the sequence of alternating loops of two colors. To change the number of loops in the canvas, two rules must be followed.
It is necessary
Knitting needles, yarn in two colors
Instructions
Step 1
Tie the canvas to the row in which you want to change the number of loops.
Step 2
Decreases are made after any front loop of the row. Reducing the number of loops, it must be borne in mind that loops of two colors alternate in the canvas and their sequence cannot be changed. First of all, two purl loops are knitted together.
Step 3
The next two loops are knit together with the front one. That is, in one section of the canvas, two loops are reduced at once. Reducing the number of loops by knitting only two loops together will not work.
Step 4
Continue knitting according to the pattern.
Step 5
The addition of loops is done using a reverse yarn, after any purl loop. Turn the canvas over with the wrong side facing you. Both threads should be on the wrong side. There will be two more loops in a row than in others.
Step 6
Pull the threads of two colors onto the knitting needle "away from you". The location of the thread is important, that is, you need to make a yarn, taking into account the sequence of loops. In the sample after the purl loop, add a white loop, and the next new loop should be green.
Step 7
Turn the canvas to the front side. Pull up the double thread that is on the left knitting needle (so that a hole does not turn out). Tie two loops from the yarn.
Step 8
The sequence of the loops must not be disturbed.
Step 9
There are two more loops in a row. The additions must be alternated with knitted loops. The next addition can be done only after knitting one front loop.
