It is customary to depict speedometers on advertising materials when it is required to emphasize the speed of the offered product or the performance of the advertised service. This metaphor is especially often used by Internet service providers.

Instructions

Step 1

Select the shape of the speedometer dial. It can be round or semicircular, with a flat side at the bottom. If it is combined with other instruments, such as a tachometer, fuel gauge, etc., draw a general trapezoidal dial with rounded corners. Speedometers with dials of other shapes are relatively rare.

Step 2

Draw the arrow first as it is in the foreground. If you draw it after the divisions and inscriptions, some of them will have to be erased, so do this only if you draw with a pencil. For a round speedometer, the arrow starts in the middle of a circle, for a semicircular speedometer, in the middle of a flat line. In the second case, part of it is located outside the visible part of the dial. The thickness of the arrow decreases from beginning to end. Position it so that it points to almost the last division.

Step 3

The scale itself with divisions should occupy about two-thirds of the circumference on a round speedometer, and almost the entire semicircle on a semicircle. It should be located at some distance from the boundaries of the dial. Apply divisions evenly every 10 kilometers per hour. Odd divisions do not need to be numbered. The speedometer should be calibrated with a certain margin in comparison with the maximum design speed of the vehicle, for example, for a moped, the last division can symbolize a speed of 60 or 70 km / h, despite the fact that in fact it can develop no more than 50. On the truck speedometer, a bus, a trolleybus, the last division usually corresponds to a speed of 120 km / h, a small car - 180, a high-class car - 200. In the middle of the scale, just below its center, mark the dimension - km / h. By drawing in color, you can make the divisions with speeds from 100 km / h and above red.

Step 4

If the speedometer image is used in an advertisement of a provider, its calibration may differ from the classic one. So, if the provider provides an access speed of 10 megabits per second, the number 12 can be located next to the last division, and the arrow points to division 10. Accordingly, the designation of the dimension should be changed to MB / s.

Step 5

A modern speedometer cannot do without an odometer. If it is mechanical, you will have to draw two counters - above and below the center. They are reel, that is, there are vertical lines between the numbers, indicating the boundaries of individual reels. The electronic odometer has a display located below the center of the dial. It glows green or yellow and has two or three lines of rectangular numbers on it. You can see how they look on a calculator.
