Many flower growers devote themselves entirely to the cultivation of rose bushes. To do this, they buy seedlings of these beautiful flowers of different varieties. However, when choosing them, you need to take into account several important points in order not to be deceived and to end up with a high-quality flower.

First of all, when buying, it is necessary to make a thorough examination of the roses. In nurseries and flower shops, roses are usually sold in special packaging. Remove the plant from it before examining it.

A good seedling should never be dry or even dried out. It must contain at least three full-fledged elastic shoots. It is also desirable that they have small "dormant" buds.

The stem of the seedling can only have an exceptionally natural green color without brown or black spots. If the seedling is covered with wax, gently pick it off in several places to check the quality of the stem. In places where the plant is grafted, no cracks should be visible.

Pay special attention to the root system. It must be free from rot and mold. It is good if small suction roots of white color are present in the lower part of the plant.

Do not buy rose seedlings that have long shoots of light white or light pink color. Their presence indicates that the plant was kept warm for a long time, but without access to light. Due to this content, bud germination occurred. At the same time, growth occurred at the expense of internal reserves, which led to a strong weakening of the plant.

Avoid buying roses from markets or unknown sellers. There are frequent cases of deception. So, in the spring, when roses are sold without a flower, you can buy exactly the same plants under the guise of different varieties of seedlings. There are also cases when roses are sold allegedly with a bud. However, the bud of the desired color is simply skillfully impaled on the stem (when sold, it is simply cut by the seller).

Buy roses only from well-known nurseries with a good reputation. You can also order high-quality seedlings with delivery by mail via the Internet. However, in this case, you should approach the choice of the seller and the method of delivery with special care.
