Working on leather and fur products requires certain practical skills and knowledge. You can make key rings, straps, bracelets, bookmarks and key holders at home, and you do not need to have special knowledge for this. It is enough to know the basics of working with leather and fur.
It is necessary

- - pattern;
- - scissors;
- - knife;
- - a thread;
- - needle;
- - sewing machine;
- - glue for leather.
Instructions
Step 1
Work on any product, even the simplest one, can be divided into several stages. First of all, you should think about the shape, color scheme and method of connecting the details of the future product. Then make a pattern and cut out the leather or fur, and only then proceed to join the parts and decorate the finished product.
Step 2
When working with leather and fur, it is necessary to use thick paper to create patterns according to which you will cut the material. Paired parts should be cut from one piece of leather, and all fur, suede or velor parts should be cut with the same pile direction. When cutting thin skins, cut with scissors, and thick material and fur with a knife. Do not forget to leave allowances for seams and hem when cutting leather.
Step 3
Arrange fur details, cut according to patterns, according to shades. In this case, put the dark one at the top, and the light one at the bottom of the product so that the transition of shades is gradual.
Step 4
The cut out parts are connected to each other using a sewing machine, glue or braiding. The braiding method is suitable exclusively for leather work, and its essence lies in assembling parts using thin straps cut from the same material as the product itself. This type of assembly is very beautiful, and after it, additional decoration of the finished product is not required.
Step 5
If you use thin leather in your work, then it is better to sew parts on a sewing machine, parts from a denser texture can be assembled by hand. Be sure to sew a test seam before starting work on the machine, with which you can adjust the thread tension for further work. Do not forget to sweep the parts of the product before starting work on the typewriter, so that in the process they do not move, and the product does not lose its shape.
Step 6
When assembling the parts of the product with glue, be sure to read the instructions, and in further work strictly follow what is indicated on the tube. Smooth out the bonding areas with fine sandpaper. Connect the parts together as tightly as possible, and remove any glue residues on the material immediately. Gently beat off the bonding area with a hammer and leave to dry for at least one day.
Step 7
By knowing the basics when working with materials such as fur and leather, you can create unusual and attractive products. Don't forget to decorate your items with different materials.
