Eleni Fureira is a popular Greek singer of Albanian origin. In 2018 she represented Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. She took an honorable 2nd place there, which was the best result of this country for the entire time of participation in this event.

Was born in Albania, in the city of Fier. Date of birth March 7, 1987. Parents are of Greek descent. When Eleni was still a child, her family moved to Greece. She currently lives there and is building a career.

She began to study music at the age of 3. Knows how to play the guitar. After graduating from high school, she studied fashion design. But she soon realized that she wanted to connect her life with singing and performing. Eleni decided to start a career in the music field at the age of 18.

Career and creativity

Quite quickly, after the beginning of her singing career, she signed a contract with producers Vasilis Kontopoulos and Andreas Yatrakos. As a result, in 2007 she became a member of the female musical group "Mystique". In the course of work, the album "Μαζί" was created. The group has collaborated with many famous Greek musicians such as Nikos Vertis, Stamatis Gonidis, Nikos Makropoulos and Panos Kiamos. Eleni left her band after recording the song "Μην κάνεις πως δεν θυμάσαι" and began solo performances.

In 2010 she reached the final of the national selection in Greece for the Eurovision Song Contest. In the same year she took part in the charity show "Just the 2 of Us". She won this project together with Panagiotis Petrakis.

In Greece, the star's first music album ("Ελένη Φουρέιρα") went platinum. 2 more albums were recorded in 2012 and 2014.

The greatest fame was brought to her by the joint song "Chica Bomb", which was published with the participation of Dan Balan. This track was included in the top parade of 2010.

In 2011, the annual MAD Video Music Awards took place. Eleni won the Best New Artist nomination. In 2012, she also won the same ceremony, but already in the nomination "Best Video Clip - Pop Music". This prize was received for the song "Reggaeton". Then there were joint performances in the Athens Arena with Sakis Rouvas and the Onirama collective. In the same year, a number of hit songs were created, such as "To party den stamata" in collaboration with Midenistis, "Stou erwta thn trela".

In 2014 she recorded a track with J Balvin.

2018 became the year of the fulfillment of the singer's long-standing dream. Eleni passed the national selection in Cyprus for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The choice of the country she represented turned out to be correct, as in the end she managed to take 2nd place in such a prestigious competition. For Cyprus, this result was the best for the entire time of the country's participation in this musical event.
