One of the most useful inventions is the winch. It will come in handy for getting a stuck car out, getting a boat out of a river at night, or for any other purpose that requires pulling power. It is very important to properly secure the winch, since this will determine the success and safety of operations.
It is necessary
- - a wooden stake with a diameter of at least 15 cm, a steel pipe or metal profile, a concrete stake;
- - ax;
- - sledgehammer;
- - non-corrugated fittings with a diameter of 12 mm;
- - bench for right-hand thread # 12;
- - washers and nuts for bolt # 12;
- - vice;
- - Bulgarian.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a wooden stake and use an ax to strip the edge of it. If the timber is 10-15 cm in diameter, then step back from the edge 20-25 cm and cut the shavings with an ax from all sides until the end of the stake takes the shape of a pointed cone.
Step 2
Use a shovel to dig a small depression in the ground where you want to secure the winch. The hole should be no deeper than the length of the spade bayonet and no more than the width of the bayonet in diameter. Fill it with water and pierce the middle with the fittings as deep as possible. Place a sharpened stake in the center and use a sledgehammer to drive it into the ground. You can drive a stake into the ground to any depth, taking into account that the top of the stake falls to your waist. Use a hacksaw to cut off the uneven top of the stake.
Step 3
Now make a clamp to attach the winch to the stake. To do this, take the armature and fix it in a vise so that it does not scroll and you have access to its tip. Using a scraper, cut the threads on the end of the reinforcement. Bend the reinforcement so that it resembles a horseshoe. To do this, use the stake that you hammered into the ground as a support. Cut the threads on the other end of the reinforcement. If it is not symmetrical, cut it off with a hacksaw before making the thread.
Step 4
Now attach the ready-made fasteners to the winch and mark the holes on the base of the winch. Take an electric drill and a metal drill with a diameter of 12 mm and drill the holes for the fasteners. Fix the winch on the stake using the washers and bolts prepared in advance, while choosing a height that is convenient for work. If the base already has holes for fasteners, then make a clamp based on the distance between them.
Step 5
For the fastener to last longer, use a metal profile or pipe instead of a wooden stake. If you have an electromechanical type winch, it is better to use concrete anchorages.
