All kinds of baubles, fashionable today among adolescents and young people, appeared in the 60s of the last century. They were worn by hippies, giving uncomplicated bracelets the status of not only jewelry, but also an amulet, talisman, and sometimes a wedding ring. Fenichki were given to each other as a token of love and friendship and, putting it on their hand, they did not take it off until the jewelry was torn. Today, baubles are still woven from threads, beads, waxed cords, beads and other materials, but unlike hippies, modern young people sometimes have to take off their bracelets. How to fasten a clasp not to a bauble?
Instructions
Step 1
It is worth making a reservation right away that some may call a bauble with a clasp not a bauble, but just a bracelet. However, a clasp is still needed if jewelry is not allowed to be worn at school or work, or if you just like the variety itself. So, if you are not a principled hippie, feel free to make baubles with fasteners.
Step 2
For example, for textile baubles knitted from iris or other threads, a strap clasp is quite suitable. You can buy a metal buckle at any craft store. Weaving a bauble must be the same width as the buckle. Before weaving the threads, individually fasten the buckles with loops on the middle partition, then weave the bauble with the chosen pattern. The length of the jewelry should be 2-3cm shorter than the girth of the wrist. When the bauble is ready, the rest of the threads must be tied in pairs in knots so that the decoration does not bloom, bend the ends of the threads and sew with small stitches to the wrong side. After you have sewn about half a centimeter, you can cut off the excess threads. Then from soft thin leather or leatherette, cut two identical straps of suitable width, about 4-5 cm long. By hand or with a sewing machine, sew the straps on both sides to the end of the bauble so that they completely cover the hemmed ends of the thread. Sew the straps together. You just have to pierce a few holes in the strap with a thick needle, and you can safely put on the fennel.
Step 3
For bead jewelry, bead clasps are more suitable. Metal carabiners or magnetic locks are also possible, but metal does not combine with the hippie ideology at all. To make a clasp from a bead, you will have to make the ends of the baubles not straight, but triangular. Begin to weave a bauble with a large bead, through which you pass all the main threads. Continue the fastener a little, stringing 3-4 beads after the bead. Then weave the bauble as planned. When you are finished, also collect all the threads and pass them through several beads. From the resulting "ponytail" make a loop of sufficient diameter for the bead to pass.
Step 4
Another way to secure the bauble on your hand is to make regular ties. To do this, simply leave the long ends of the threads when weaving on both sides, and when the bracelet is ready, weave them into pigtails. To learn how to independently put on and tie this jewelry on your hand, you will need some skill, but after a little training, you can easily do it.
