Mature bream is a desirable prey for a fisherman. The fish has excellent taste in dried, smoked, fried form, added to the fish soup. However, juveniles of bream up to 30 cm long, called undergrowths, delight fishermen, especially in the wilderness, in the absence of large prey. The success of catching this fish largely depends on a well-chosen bait.

Brood-bream is sometimes mistakenly referred to as a separate species of fish, similar to bream, but having a smaller size. Inexperienced fishermen may confuse it with silver bream, however, in the catch, brood bream is valued higher than silver bream. Fishing shops sell ready-made feeds for bream, but many fishing enthusiasts recommend preparing their own formulations.

Spring-summer bait options

Before and after spawning, during which fishing is prohibited, the breeder reacts differently to bait. Water temperature affects appetite and taste preferences. Nevertheless, we can safely speak about the universal basis of spring-summer complementary foods. Cooked peas, millet, yachka and pearl barley on their own or mixed will certainly interest the fish.

The strong current of the river will prevent the formation of a stern spot. Therefore, in an unfamiliar place, the intensity of the current, the condition and topography of the bottom are clarified and the prospects for fishing with bait are assessed.

The protein supplement in the cereal base depends on what the fishing will go to. If for maggot - small maggot is added to the mixture, for worm - porridge is mixed with worms chopped into 3-4 parts, the same rule applies to bloodworms.

Since the creeper is a bottom fish, the groundbait mix does not require filler in the form of bread crumbs, milk powder or other ingredients that create a “cloud” and attract fish from higher water layers. Flavors are required, just do not forget that the colder the water, the less odorous substances should be contained in the dressing. The smells of vanilla, anise, cinnamon are always relevant.

If the bottom of the reservoir is too soft and muddy or covered with thickets of bottom plants, the best bait may not work, getting lost in the layer of bottom sediments and thicker grasses.

Soil is added to the cooked porridge on the shore, which creates the necessary consistency of the bait mixture. The land should be collected here, on the shore of the reservoir. The mixture mixed in a container is checked for crumbling of a lump and is delivered to the place of future fishing on a boat or, in the absence of such, is thrown from the shore.

Winter bait options

Autumn and winter fish are especially tasty: having eaten over the summer, bream and podleschik go to winter with a thick layer of fat and tender meat. Low temperatures significantly reduce the appetite of well-fed individuals, and therefore, very young and hungry fish undergrowth are mainly used on hooks. The success of winter fishing for borer is nevertheless quite achievable.

From the basis for bait, millet is most preferred. Flavors in the mixture for the winter are added very delicately, often experienced fishermen recommend to abandon them altogether. Of the winter "meat" additives, bloodworms are most successfully used, chopped red worms are welcome. Often they refuse the cereal component altogether, luring the fish with small bloodworms delivered to the bottom with the help of a feeder.
