Hande Yener is the stage name of the popular Turkish singer Makbule Hande Oziener, who was born in the winter of 1973 in Istanbul. Her rivalry with Demet Akalyn, another Turkish pop star, as well as her desire to constantly change her image, constantly maintain media interest in the singer and her work.
Biography
Hande Yener was born in a large district of Istanbul called Kadıköy. She is the youngest of two daughters, Yildiz Yazici, a housewife, and Erol Oziener, a retired professional footballer who has worked for a large car company after finishing his sports career. The name of the girl was chosen by her paternal grandmother, and both sisters were brought up in strictness and obedience.
Hande declared from an early age that she wanted to become a singer, but her parents, who believed that show business was an unworthy occupation for a decent girl, insisted that after completing her secondary education in a regular school, her daughter should go to Erenköy, the oldest girls' school in Istanbul. Here women were brought up, reaching a significant social position in Turkey - educated, restrained, observing traditions.
When Handa turned 17, her father began to drink a lot and her parents divorced. And she herself dropped out of school in 1990 and set up her personal life, trying to follow traditions - she became the wife of the customs broker Ugur Kulachoglu and in the same year gave birth to his child.
Career
In 1994, Hande's marriage fell apart, and she went to work in a department store as a saleswoman to support her son. A chance acquaintance with the music teacher Erdem Siyavuşgil, a woman who was the mentor of many pop stars, determined the fate of the future singer. Erdem immediately told Handa that she had great singing potential.
Hande Yener decided to make her childhood dream come true and began to take music and vocal lessons, persistently asked all the stars visiting the store to connect her with the famous Sezen Aksu, a Turkish singer and producer who brought many pop stars onto the stage. Hande's persistence was rewarded, and in 1992 the acquaintance took place, and the rather demanding Aksu gave the young singer a chance.
For several years, Hande worked in the Aksu team as a backing vocalist and assistant to the star. In 2000, the singer released her debut album, entitled "All About You" (Senden ibaret), with gentle love songs. Thanks to the commercial success of her first work, the following year, the singer published another compilation entitled Sen Yoluna Ben Yoluma. The third album in 2004 brought Handa international fame, and several songs became hits.
For the 2006 collection of songs, the singer radically changed her image, which became a real sensation for her Turkish fans. Since then, Hande has dramatically changed her appearance more than once, remaining always a stylish and energetic pop performer.
