Instructions
Step 1
Wash off the label on the vinyl and let it dry. Prime the surface of the plate with a white spray primer (alkyd universal primer would be an excellent option). This aerosol primer will create a strong bond with the surface of the record, making it easier to work with.
Step 2
Decide on the background of the future watch: dilute the paint and apply it to the surface of the plate with a sponge. Let the paint dry.
Step 3
Cut a motif out of a decoupage card. Then spread the surface of the vinyl record with PVA glue and dip the decoupage card in the glue. Gently spread the card on the surface of the plate and spread it on top with glue. Walk your fingers along the surface of the card and expel any bubbles that have accumulated under it. Let dry (you can speed up this process by using a regular hairdressing hairdryer).
Step 4
Transfer the decal addiction to the future watch surface. To do this, first dip the decal sheet into a container of water and leave for five minutes. Then take out the napkin and, securing this sheet in an upright position, let the water drain. As soon as the peeling of the pattern from the paper base begins, transfer this image to the surface of the future watch using the sliding method: that is, put the pattern on the base and gradually separate it from the paper base, rolling this paper. Get rid of the bubbles - go over the surface with a spatula. Let the base dry.
Step 5
Place rice paper on top and let the surface dry. After that, open the surface with varnish (it is recommended to do this at least three times).
Step 6
Insert the scissors into the hole in the record and turn them several times (this will increase the diameter of the hole, making it easier to install the clockwork).
Step 7
Insert the clockwork (the order is as follows: the mechanism itself, then the hinge, then the plate, and then the washer and nut). Then put on and tightly fasten the hands: hour, minute and second. Insert the battery.
