How do cartoon characters differ from real people? Hypertrophied parts of the body, various colors of skin, hairstyles, clothes, pronounced facial expressions and others. This is all inherent in the characters of the animated series "The Simpsons", which is very exciting to draw.
It is necessary
A sheet of paper, a pencil, an eraser, materials for work in color
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a sheet of paper, a pencil, an eraser, and color materials to work with. Choose the character you want to draw - Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, Maggie or someone else from this family's friends and residents of the town. Think about how your character will be drawn. With a simple pencil, start sketching.
Step 2
First, make a general sketch of the figure, compositionally place it on the sheet. Then use geometric shapes to build the body of the character. Each of them has characteristic features that are worth paying attention to. So, for example, Homer has a large round belly, his wife Marge has a fairly tall hairstyle, which is almost half of her height. Bart with his small belly slightly resembles his father, Lisa and Maggie have a hedgehog hairstyle.
Step 3
After sketching the geometric shapes, start sketching. Splicing circles and ovals among themselves, specify the nuances, details characteristic of each character - hairstyles, pieces of clothing, accessories. Please note that all characters have one thing in common - eyes. They resemble billiard balls with a dot in the center, and only female characters have eyes surrounded by eyelashes.
Step 4
Prepare a drawing for painting. To do this, use the eraser to delete the invisible and auxiliary lines, otherwise they will be visible from under the layer of paint or felt-tip pen.
Step 5
For color work, it is better to use felt-tip pens or gouache (it is denser than watercolor). Paint over large areas first, then move on to smaller ones. Try to distribute the color evenly over the surface. Once the paint or markers have dried (some brands need time to dry), you can stroke in black. It is better to use a black gel pen or fine felt-tip pen for this.
