Traditional Celtic designs are often seen today as decoration on a wide variety of objects. Intertwining lines and whimsical curls amaze the imagination and make you admire the work of the master who created such beauty. In practice, drawing Celtic patterns does not cause any particular difficulties, although it requires the artist to follow a number of rules.
It is necessary
- - paper;
- - a simple pencil;
- - eraser;
- - black marker;
- - ruler;
- - compasses;
- - protractor;
- - colored pencils, markers or paints.
Instructions
Step 1
Start your Celtic design by creating construction construction. The nature of the construction lines is determined by the characteristics of the pattern being created. For example, to depict the traditional Celtic symbol of good luck - a four-leaf clover, you need to draw a cross and draw two vertical lines through its center. You should have an eight-pointed snowflake. When constructing Celtic patterns, you can use auxiliary tools: a ruler, compasses, protractor.
Step 2
Draw heart shaped clover leaves. Try to make the details of the pattern absolutely identical. This can be easily achieved by using a compass.
Step 3
Draw a curl inside each of the four pieces of the clover leaf. This detail of the pattern can be twisted into a small spiral, completed with a loop or angular. It is important to observe the principle of maintaining symmetry even in the image of the smallest details.
Step 4
Draw the pattern more clearly. Erase the insufficiently symmetrical fragments and paint them again.
Step 5
Trace the outline of the drawing with a thin black marker. Be very careful not to break the symmetry of the lines. Let the marker dry completely and then gently erase any guide lines.
Step 6
Color in your drawing with crayons, felt-tip pens, or paints. You can paint the Irish quatrefoil in the traditional emerald green, or you can get creative with blue, gold or red. To make the drawing more voluminous, individual fragments of the pattern can be painted over with a darker color. Celtic patterns made in several colors look very impressive. When coloring your clover leaf, you can use a separate color for each of the four parts of the design.
