Step 1
Prepare the materials you need for the job. Before starting work, look on the Internet for images of birds in flight, pay attention to the structure of the wing, its curvature and the number of segments that you will create during work. Choose what breed your bird will be.
Step 2
Start by creating a sketch that will consist of geometric shapes. First of all, this is a small circle - the head, then an oval should be placed behind it - the body, and a triangle should be used to designate the bird's tail spread in flight. Next, with smooth lines, connect all parts of the body to each other, thus forming the neck and other transitions.
Step 3
Start sketching the wings. Each wing will have two segments. The first resembles a beveled rectangle, and it is inclined in the direction of the bird's flight. The second segment, which emerges from the first, is a triangle, the apex of which is directed in the direction opposite to the direction of flight. Then sketch out the eyes, beak, and legs of the bird. Please note that in flight the bird clenches its legs.
Step 4
Next, complete a detailed drawing of the bird's body, having previously erased the auxiliary lines with an eraser. Draw feathers on the wings and tail. If you look closely at the drawings and photographs, you will notice that all the lines of the feathers on each wing and on the tail seem to converge at one point. And they are not located each separately, but superimposed on each other.
Step 5
Mark the light and shadow, light and dark color zones of the plumage, clarify the eyes and paws. Come up with and paint a background if you like. It can be a sky with clouds, a forest, proud, and so on. If you want, then do the drawing in color. Start with the background. Then paint the main color spots on the body of the bird, outline the shadow. Then draw the details, clarify the foreground with color saturation and simple selection, underlining.
