It is necessary

  • - paper;
  • - solid simple pencil;
  • - watercolor paints;
  • - foam sponge.

Instructions

Step 1

Sketch with a pencil. To draw a bird on a branch, lay the leaf vertically. Mark the position of the branch. For example, it can be in the lower right corner, just above the horizontal side of the sheet.

Step 2

Determine a place for the bird. If the bird will be the main character of your drawing, place it somewhere in the middle of the sheet. When she sits on a branch, the body is slightly tilted forward. You can mark this angle with a slanted line. It will pass in the middle of the oval, in which the body of the bird can be placed along with the head.

Step 3

Draw an oval. If you didn't draw its long axis, imagine where it is. The long diameter is about 1.5-2 times the short one. It's okay if the line turns out to be uneven. It is even better if the oval is slightly curved. The bird will look more natural.

Step 4

Mark the position of the wing with a couple of long strokes. When the bird sits sideways, one wing is visible to the viewer. Mark the direction of the legs and define the location for the eye.

Step 5

Draw a beak. In a sketch, you can simply outline it with a pair of short straight lines extending from the oval at its top. Draw the outline of the wing closer to you.

Step 6

Determine the ratio of the length of the tail to the length of the body. Draw the tail with two converging lines. The top will run parallel to the longest diameter of the oval. Draw a branch and legs.

Step 7

Start coloring the picture by filling the background. If you are painting with watercolors, moisten the sheet with water using a foam sponge or a wide, soft brush. Make a few blots of paint and blur all over the sheet. Try not to touch the bird, but if water or paint does get on it, do not pay attention. You will paint over these places anyway.

Step 8

Mark the borders of the colored spots with a thin pencil. Paint them in an even tone. The edges can be blurred a little. Then take a thin brush and paint over the outlines with darker paint.
