"Buranovskie Babushki" is a Russian folklore group from Udmurtia, which took second place at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012. After their brilliant performance, the silver medalists of the competition went back to their native village. But many viewers are interested in what the star grandmothers will do now.
The old women themselves said that the first thing they would do on their return would be the gardens. First, the performers of the hit "Party for everybody" will fight the Colorado potato beetle, which, during their absence, has probably already bred in full on potatoes.
Even before the competition "Buranovskie grandmothers" said that their main dream is the revival of the church in their native village. The old ladies' wish came true. For the second place in the Eurovision Song Contest, participants are entitled to a prize of 30,000 euros. The performers will spend all their money on the temple. On May 30, when the contestants returned home, the authorities had already laid the foundation for the future church. Meanwhile, two members of the team managed to take part in the game "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire", earning a total of 800,000 rubles. This money will also be donated for the construction of the church.
The team will have to promote road safety. The State Traffic Safety Inspector of Udmurtia personally presented the singers with certificates of freelance traffic police officers. And the grandmothers at the last concert have already reminded their listeners of the need to be careful on the roadway and in places where public transport stops.
The energetic old ladies have far-reaching plans to organize Eurovision for the elderly. The high results of the singers in the competition convinced them that the audience is interested not only in young performers. The collective hopes that artists of the same age will actively participate in the competition.
For several months, the old women do not plan to go on tour - all members of the collective have vegetable gardens, from which one cannot break away for a long time. Nevertheless, the Buranovskiye Babushki concert will take place in St. Petersburg on June 14th. After it, there will be a lull in the pop life of old women until autumn, and after the harvest, they will certainly delight the audience.
