Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov - Soviet military leader, Marshal of the Soviet Union, Minister of Defense of the USSR. His personal life was complex and confusing. Zhukov dreamed of a son, but fate gave him four daughters.
The first daughter of Georgy Zhukov Margarita
Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov is a great Soviet commander. His services to his homeland are undeniable. Georgy Konstantinovich was called the "Marshal of Victory". Zhukov's personal life deserves special attention. It was stormy, fulfilling and tragic at the same time. Despite strict Soviet moral principles, the military leader was not afraid to live the way he wanted. He had two formal marriages and several connections on the side.
The first big love of Zhukov was Maria Nikolaevna Volokhova. He met her during the Civil War in 1919. After returning from the front, Georgy Konstantinovich maintained a relationship with a young nurse, but after a while he began to meet with another woman. For six years, he was torn between Maria Volokhova and Alexandra Zuikova. In 1929, Maria gave birth to a daughter, Margarita, from Zhukov. The constant rivalry with Alexandra soon got tired of the woman and she married another, gave her daughter the name of her new husband. Only after his death did Maria tell who the girl's father really was.
Margarita was recognized by Zhukov during his lifetime. The Marshal wrote it down in his will. But only after the death of Georgy Konstantinovich, she decided to change her surname and started talking about kinship with the great commander in public. In 1993, Maria Georgievna organized the Marshal Zhukov Foundation. The legitimate sisters did not like this initiative. They repeatedly complained, wrote letters to senior management and accused the relative of libel. Margarita Georgievna died in 2010.
Daughters Ella and Era
Zhukov met his first official wife Alexandra Dievna Zuikova in 1920. He registered a marriage with a young teacher in 1922, but the documents were later lost. For the second time, Georgy Konstantinovich and his wife signed at the Moscow registry office in 1953.
Due to constant migrations at the beginning of her family life, Alexandra lost her first child. Doctors advised her not to give birth anymore. Alexandra Zhukova did not listen to anyone and in 1928 gave birth to a daughter, Era, and in 1937, Ella. After the birth of her first child, the woman quit her job and devoted herself to her family.
Era and Ella grew up, graduated from MGIMO. Ella recalled that by the time she received her diploma, her father had already been removed from high-ranking posts. He had conflicts with the new government and this had an impact on its fate. When assigned, she was offered the worst job options. She left for another city, and then chance helped and the girl got into the radio committee, became a journalist.
Two sisters are founders of the Zhukov Memorial Fund. Era has a son, Cyril, and Ella has two daughters: Tatiana and Alexandra.
Youngest daughter Maria
Marshal Zhukov in 1950 met his second wife. Military doctor Galina Aleksandrovna Semenova was almost 30 years younger than him and served in the district hospital. Zhukov took care of Galina's transfer to Moscow and lived for several years with two families. In 1957, Semenova gave birth to his daughter Masha. For Zhukov, she became the fourth child.
Zhukov was able to register relations with Galina only in 1965. Georgy Konstantinovich called the marriage with this woman the happiest, but in 1973 his second wife died of cancer. Half a year later, Zhukov himself passed away. Daughter Mary at that time was only 17 years old.
Despite the fact that Masha was left an orphan early, she received an education, got married, gave birth to a son. She connected her life with the memory of the great father. According to the will of Georgy Zhukov, the youngest daughter became the main heiress, including copyright transferred to her. Maria Zhukova has been working for the publishing house of the Sretensky Monastery for many years. She published the book "Marshal Zhukov is my father".
