When choosing a carnival costume for yourself or your child, pay attention to a pirate costume. This cheerful, perky image will appeal to both a boy and a girl, and even an adult will allow him to fool around at the party. In addition, making this costume is not difficult: old jeans, a vest and a scarf can be found, perhaps, in any home. The only detail you will have to spend time making is the pirate hat.

Step 1
The easiest way to make a pirate hat is from an unnecessary wide-brimmed hat. Perhaps once upon a time you brought her from a sea voyage, or maybe your grandfather's headdress is still gathering dust at your dacha - any one with wide brim will do. First of all, the hat will need to be painted black. This can be done with regular gouache or fabric paint. Aniline fabric dyes are also good for a straw hat. After the hat is dry, it will need to be decorated. An important detail of the pirate hat is the skull and crossbones. They should be cut out of white paper and glued to your hat or stapled. Also for decoration, you can use a satin black ribbon that needs to be fastened around the hat at the base of the brim, feathers or large glass stones that imitate precious stones.
Step 2
If you don't have a ready-made hat on hand, make one out of thick paper. To do this, cut out two identical parts from paper, resembling an inverted boat in shape, paint them black. Cut out the skull and bones from white paper and stick them on the front part of the future hat. Cut a strip of paper equal in length to the circumference of the head plus 3-4 cm for gluing and fold it in a ring, holding the ends together. Glue the front and back parts of the hat to the strip, and glue them together along the edges. Let the product dry.
Step 3
In the event that you need to make the hat as quickly as possible, you can simply fold it out of the newspaper. Surely you remember how boats are made of paper: take a spread of the newspaper, fold along the fold. Lay the blank with the fold up and fold the top corners towards the center to form an equilateral triangle, with additional edges at the bottom. Bend the bottom edges to the outer sides of the cocked hat, hide the corners and secure the blank with glue so that the hat does not unfold later. All that remains is to paint the hat black and glue to it a crossbones skull cut from white paper.
