Step 1
Berets can be knitted in different ways. Begin with the rim of the cap or crown. You can knit takes on both two and five knitting needles, wedges tied transversely or just in a circle.

The first time, subtract half of the stitches from the total and knit three centimeters. Do the same the second time. For the third time, knit two stitches together, you should have 10-12 stitches left if you did everything right. Then cut off the yarn, thread the darning needle, pull the needle through the open loops, pull off the thread, bartack and sew the beret with a knit stitch.
Step 3
The beret can be tied from top to bottom, starting from the crown. Cast on seven loops, along with the hem, and knit as follows: alternate the first row one yarn over and one front loop, knit the second row and all subsequent even rows according to the pattern, knit yarns with crossed loops, knit the third row as the first. Then divide the loops into 6 equal parts and knit the wedges of the beret. Mark the edges of the wedge with threads of a contrasting color or a special marker. To widen the wedge, crochet on both sides 3 times every row and 6 times every three rows. Make sure the bottom of the beret is flat. When the bottom diameter is 28-30 cm, knit 3-4 cm without increments. Then make a decrease in 3-4 steps to the number of loops, which is equal to the circumference of your head. Next, knit the beret rim with an elastic band 3-5 cm. Finish the product.
Step 4
The beret can be knitted on 5 knitting needles. Type the number of loops you need according to the calculation and knit an elastic band in a circle. Then knit 6-8 cm with a pattern, making the necessary additions to shape the beret. Knit the next 5 cm without additions and start knitting the bottom, in the same way as in the first method. Pull the remaining loops with a needle and thread, fasten. Your beret is ready!
