Step 1
First, think about how you want to see your aquarium, and only then proceed with the selection of plants. If you plant the entire space with high algae, then there will be no beauty in this, and you can hardly see fish in this more often. Therefore, plant tall plants in the background, leave only small bushes in front that do not obstruct the view.
Step 2
Purchased plants must be treated with a disinfectant solution before placing them in the aquarium in order to rid them of the bacteria living on them. Prepare a weak solution of table salt, consisting of 1 tsp. NaCl and 1 liter of water, rinse the acquired sprouts in it.
Step 3
Pour some water into the aquarium, dig a small hole in the sandy soil, lower the plant roots into it, while trying not to crush them. Sprinkle sand over the hole. If this is not enough and the plant floats up, you can press it down at the root with a small stone.
Step 4
But for some sprouts, this is not enough. Plants with increased buoyancy should be tied to a stone with a nylon thread and dug in with sand. After rooting, the thread can be removed.
Step 5
Top up the aquarium with water, spread out the plants, give them the desired shape. After that, you can start floating plants into the aquarium. Place them in the corner where you want them to be. If the plants are blurry, build a small nylon net and limit their area of distribution.
