It is no coincidence, back in the 19th century, phlox were already a popular crop in horticulture. And today in our gardens phlox have no equal. This is especially true of paniculate phlox. After all, it is difficult to find a culture that can bloom for more than four months a year.
Starting to bloom at the end of June in central Russia, early varieties of phlox paniculata pass the baton to middle and late flowering ones until October.
Currently, a huge number of cultivars have been created. Most of them have excellent decorative qualities, a pleasant aroma of flowering plants, but at the same time they inherited resistance and unpretentiousness from their ancestors.
Phlox has so many different colors in which its inflorescences are painted. From the purest white and white with shades to pink, lilac, scarlet, purple, salmon, violet, carmine, inky dark. There is only a yellow tone in the culture. And the variety of color of eyes in flowers is so interesting that one cannot but admire the beauty. Everything a designer can dream of, and just a florist who loves spectacular flowers.
It is worth wanting and you can choose any tone for decorating a blooming garden, because in any group of colors there are many varieties of early, blooming in late June - early July, middle - high summer, (July - early August) and late, blooming from late August to strong autumn cold snaps.
It is impossible not to say about the variegated forms of phlox, which will make a harmonious company to asters, dahlias, cleomes, zinnias.
Phloxes are very good next to such reliable neighbors - perennials such as daylilies, peonies, irises, monards, nivyaniki, aconites, heliopsis, clematis, goldenrod, stonecrops.
They will naturally fit into compositions by the water, in classic mixborders, in landscape gardens.
