Decorative pillowcases greatly adorn a sofa or bed, making the interior less standard. Especially if they are hand-sewn!
Such a pillowcase looks very original, but it is done very simply, because the idea of its decoration is based on an elementary applique.
So, to create such a decorative pillowcase, you will need a simple thick fabric for the base (for example, linen), thin gray felt, as in the photo, or another thread of a suitable color, a zipper.
You can take a ready-made pillowcase of a suitable size (in this case, follow only steps 3 and 4 from the list below).
The sewing process is obvious:
1. Measure the pillow for which the pillowcase will be made.
2. Cut out two rectangles from the fabric, the sides of which will be equal to the measurements from the previous paragraph + 1.5 or 2 cm.
3. Cut 5-9 leaves out of felt, similar in shape to linden (or birch) leaves and several narrow strips (about 0.5 cm wide) to simulate branches.
4. Sew on the "branches" so that they intersect at random, and then attach the leaves to them. On each leaf, imitate the veins with several short lines.
5. After the pillowcase is decorated, you need to sew three sides of the pillowcase, and sew a zipper into the fourth.
To imitate twigs, thick woolen yarn is also suitable, which must be sewn with thin threads in color. By the way, it is not at all necessary to maintain the color of the leaves shown in the photo or their number, shape. Show your imagination!
