Flowers are not only the best gifts for the holidays, but also signs of attention just like that. And so I want beautiful bouquets to please the eye and decorate the interior of the rooms for as long as possible. There are several ways to preserve colors for this. One of them is to properly dry the flowers, then the composition of them will stand for a very long time.
It is necessary
- Dark ventilated area
- Cotton wool
- Water
- Glycerol
- Semolina
- Sand
Instructions
Step 1
The easiest way to dry flowers is in a dark, cool, well-ventilated area. Before drying flowers in this way, you need to remove all the leaves from the stems, tie them in several pieces and hang them. In a draft, the flowers will dry quickly, and thanks to the darkness, bright colors will not fade.
Step 2
You can also dry the flowers in the sand. To do this, you need to pour a little sand into a deep bowl, then put the flower and sprinkle it completely. It should take at least a week, only then the flower can be removed, gently raking the sand. If sand is difficult to find, semolina can be used just as well.
Step 3
Also flowers can be dried with cotton wool. To do this, you need to take a small box and make holes in it. Then a layer of cotton wool is placed on the bottom of the box, the stems of flowers are carefully threaded into the holes, the heads can also be wrapped with cotton wool. After that, the box is suspended. Drying readiness is determined by the state of the stem. If it has dried well, then the flower is also dried.
Step 4
If thicker branches or branches with berries will be dried, then you need to immerse the branches in a solution of two parts of water and one part of glycerin for several days. Berries after such processing will not fly around.
