There are many ways to fish. One of the most popular is fishing with a spinning rod and a fishing rod. Despite their external similarity, these gears have significant differences both in design and in rigging.
Structural differences between a spinning rod and a fishing rod
The spinning rod is designed for catching predatory fish, while casting a spoon or other bait is carried out at a sufficiently long distance. A fishing rod is used for fishing in one place, without long casts, while the length of the fishing line is equal to the length of the rod or only slightly exceeds it.
The overwhelming majority of modern fishing rods are made of plastic and have a sliding design. The length of the rod can be up to 5 meters or more. Before starting to catch the knee, the rods move apart and, due to friction, are fixed in the extended state.
Spinning rods are available in a variety of models - telescopic, one-piece, and also consisting of two or three connecting parts. A spinning rod is usually shorter than a fishing rod, with an average length of about 2 meters. The strength of the spinning rod is higher than that of a fishing rod.
It should also be noted that the length of the spinning rod is selected for specific fishing conditions. For fishing from the shore, a length of 2, 7-3 meters is better; for fishing from a boat, a shorter spinning rod is needed, about 1, 8-2, 1 meters.
The handle of the spinning rod has a special design, providing its comfortable grip and making it easy to connect the spinning reel. The spinning rod is equipped with durable rings that are resistant to abrasion with a fishing line. This is important, as the line gradually wipes even the strongest rings, leaving a clearly visible groove on them. There are no rings at all on the fishing rod, or they are weak, not designed for a heavy load.
The most important characteristics of spinning
When buying a spinning rod, you should consider its action. It is fast, medium and slow. This parameter shows how the spinning rod bends under load. With a fast action, only the upper part of the spinning rod bends. When slow, the spinning rod bends evenly almost from the handle itself. A spinning rod with a medium action has intermediate characteristics.
Another important characteristic of a spinning rod is its lure test. For example, test 1-5 says that the spinning rod can work with the lightest baits from 1 to 5 grams. A spinning rod with a test of 5-25 can be called universal, it is suitable for a wide range of lures.
The build and test are also typical for fishing rods, manufacturers always indicate these parameters in their descriptions.
Fishing rod and spinning equipment
The rod is usually equipped with a bite signaling float. Below the float, on leashes, there are one or two hooks, rarely more. A small sinker is used to submerge the bait.
Spinning rods are used for fishing with trolleys and other artificial baits that imitate fish, insects, etc. As a rule, a sinker is used, especially when fishing in a strong current, but heavy lures can be thrown without it, due to their own weight. Modern spinning reels allow you to cast even very light lures. For an inertial coil, a load is required.
Spinning can sometimes be caught like a fishing rod, the opposite option is very inconvenient and is almost never used. Fishing with a spinning rod requires some experience - in particular, it is necessary to learn how to make accurate casts.
Thus, a spinning rod and a fishing rod are completely different tackles, significantly differing both in design and in options for use.
