A wall hanger is an indispensable attribute of a hallway, a bathhouse, a summer residence. You can do it yourself - it will turn out much cheaper and better. In addition, the hanger manufacturing process is quite simple, you don't need to be a professional carpenter to do this.
It is necessary
- - pine or any dry board;
- - several screws;
- - wood glue;
- - hooks.
Instructions
Step 1
First, make a template. You will need it if you want to make several identical hangers for sale or as a gift to your family and friends. The hanger can be made for 2, 3, 4 or more hooks. The shape of the base of the wall hanger can be very diverse, as well as the options for the hooks. The template can be made from plywood or plank. Immediately mark and drill holes in it for hooks and for self-tapping screws required to attach the hanger to the wall.
Step 2
After making the template, file the blanks for the base of the hangers. For a hanger with four hooks, the size of the workpiece will be approximately 450x80 mm with a thickness of 20 mm. Then screw the template to the workpiece and start milling with a rolling cutter. If there is no cutter, simply sand the edges in any way you can, such as sandpaper. Do not forget to mark future holes in the workpiece through the holes in the template. If desired, the edges of the hanger blank can be rounded off.
Step 3
Next, move on to making crochet hooks. For this purpose, birch cuttings for mops or shovels are suitable. You can also use ready-made metal hooks, which are attached to the base of the hanger with self-tapping screws. If you decide to make wooden hooks, then cut the handle into pieces, the number of which will be equal to the number of future hooks. Use a cutter to make neat semi-circular grooves. You can use a miter saw as a cut, just do not forget to put a stopper so that all hooks are of equal length.
Step 4
Grind the cut edges of the resulting workpiece on a grinder or by hand with sandpaper. For the base of the hanger 450x80 mm, you will need four hooks, each about 50 mm long. After making the required number of hooks from the inside of the end, drill holes with a diameter of 3 mm so that the hook does not burst when screwing in the self-tapping screw.
Step 5
After drilling the holes in the hooks and in the base of the hanger, proceed to assembling the product. Lubricate the end of the hook, on which the hole was drilled, a little with wood glue, and then pull the hook to the base of the hanger with a self-tapping screw.
This way you can make a wall hanger of any size and shape with any number of hooks.
