The pom-pom is the most common decoration for children's mittens and hats. You can knit a pompom yourself - just be patient and pick up the threads that match the color.
It is necessary
- - Cardboard
- - scissors
- - Thick darning needle
- - Woolen threads
Instructions
Step 1
Cut 2 circles out of cardboard. The diameter depends on the size of the pompom you want to make. Cut out a small circle in the middle of each one.
Step 2
Thread a long woolen thread into a thick darning needle.
Step 3
Fold 2 circles together (one on top of the other) and wind the thread evenly around the circles through the hole in the middle. The more threads you wind, the more magnificent the pompom will turn out. At the end of the work, the circles should resemble a donut, only without a large hole in the middle. By the way, the small circle you cut out will most likely be completely filled with threads.
Step 4
After you've wound enough thread, cut the threads with scissors around the large circles. Tie the threads by threading the thread between the two large circles that are now separated. Tighten as tight as possible. Leave the thread you will use to tie the pompom long so you can attach the pompom to the garment. Fluff up the pompom, trim if necessary.
