In central Russia, January for fishermen is a time of deep winter, when there is practically no fishing - the hole instantly freezes, the line looks like a rough rope, a cold wind blows over the face. But for the fishermen of North Karelia, winter is the time when fishing for whitefish, a fish from the salmon family, begins in reservoirs with a clean sandy or pebble bottom. Large fish reach a weight of 0.8 to 4 kg. Whitefish fishing in winter is an exciting activity for those who love winter fishing.

Instructions

Step 1

In winter, a species of whitefish is caught, which is called sig-ludoga. He got this name because in October, when spawning begins, the fish comes out on rocky and coarse sandy underwater ridges - ludas. As a rule, in winter it keeps in the depths of lakes and sometimes goes to shallower places. Your task is to find this luda on an unfamiliar lake, but, as a last resort, you can find out its location from local fishermen. Navigate the old holes and hope for luck and fishing intuition.

Step 2

Use float rods to fish for whitefish. Do not chase after complicated tackle; for winter fishing, simple fishing rods with thick lines and narrow long spinners are suitable. The fewer frills and gadgets, the better - with wind and severe frost, it will be easier to handle it. Choose a line that is strong, resilient, but not too thick. A piece 15-20 m long is enough for it to be easy to untangle.

Step 3

Choose a steel plate nod that won't vibrate in the wind. Spoons can be white with bunches of red threads on the hook or two-tone. The outer side of the spoon is better to be made of cupronickel or slightly blackened silver, and the inner side is made of bronze, perhaps brass. The lower part of the spoon should be weighted and slightly pressed inward by 3-5mm. The width of the spoon in the lower part should not be large - no more than 15 mm, the length - from 3 to 7 cm. Equip the fishing rods with large comma-shaped jigs, made of the same materials as the spoons.

Step 4

As a nozzle, bark beetle larvae, earthworms, maggots are perfect. It is also caught on the jig, attracted by its twists, but in the cold it is quite problematic to plant it.

Step 5

Start playing right at the bottom, gradually catching all layers of water, because depending on the weather and time of day, fish are kept at different depths. Most often it is 3-5 m, but after the descents they catch it and deeper - by 10-15 m.
