There can be many reasons for deleting a character in computer games: a mistake in choosing a class, incorrect pumping of skills and abilities, the need to free up space on an account for a new character, or even changing a nickname to a more consonant one. Here we will try to voice some of the problems a player may face when saying a dramatic goodbye to his virtual alter ego.
Instructions
Step 1
There are games in which separation from a character brings a minimum of inconvenience to the player - these are Titan quest (and the Immortal Throne addon), Diablo 2, Dragon Age: Origins, etc. Here, in the character selection or creation window, there is a “Delete” button. However, in most multiplayer RPGs such as World of Warcraft, Allods Online, Lineage 2, or Perfect World, the system will ask you to confirm deletion of the character. To do this, an input field will appear on the screen, in which you will need to personally enter the name of the hero to be eliminated or a terrible phrase like "Confirm deletion". In offline games (Gothic series, Fallout, The Elder Scrolls), the process can be much more prosaic, i.e. erasing character data files, such as saves, on the hard disk.
Step 2
Some online games give the player a chance to change their mind and bring the "char" back into the fold of the account. For example, in Aion, Lineage 2 or Perfect world, seven days are given for this. By the way, in Aion, a week is the privilege of only high-level characters. It takes about 5 minutes to annihilate heroes under level 20.
Step 3
However, there are computer games in which the character cannot be deleted. In most cases, such a game-design "find" is inherent in toys that do their best to lure an extra penny from the player, for example, Battlefield heroes. When the limit of "charms" in the account is exhausted, additional "slots" for them can be purchased only for real money.
