What if you suddenly decided to catch fish, but didn’t take your fishing rod with you. In this article you will read how to make a fishing rod with materials at hand.

First of all, you need to make a rod. The following types of wood are best suited for him: birch, hazel, bird cherry, but you can take maple or willow. The length of the cut rod must be at least three meters.

Before assembling the fishing rod, the rod must be sanded by two-thirds with a sharp object: a piece of glass or a knife. Line size from 0, 15 to 0, 3 must be tied to the rod, starting from the middle of the rod, secured at the end of the rod (wrapped around the top). This operation can be done with an adhesive plaster, tape, or simply by tying a knot. The line should be about 30 cm longer than the rod.

After fixing the fishing line, we prepare and attach the float. To do this, you need to take an ordinary stick, cork or piece of bark and tie it with a regular loop to the middle of the fishing line. Below the float, a sinker must be tied, which can be a small nail, a notched pellet, a nut. The load must be secured at a distance of at least 5 cm from the float.

If you don't have a hook, you can make one out of a pin, thin steel wire, or go in search of any fisherman who lends you a hook. If you still did not find the fisherman and made the hook yourself, then remember - firstly, you need to sharpen it (with any pebble), and secondly, when you fish, do not give slack because the fish will break off (the hook will fall out of the lip). The hook is attached (tied) to the line with a knot, and your rod is completely ready.

If you can't make a fishing rod, then you can make a donk, which is perfect for fishing. Take a long, thick fishing line, attach a sinker to its end. Take a thin leash separately, tie a hook to it and fix it at a distance of 10-15 cm in front of the load. Now all that remains is to plant the bait and throw the donk or farther from the shore into the lake. Fix the end of the fishing rod on the shore with a branch, a peg or a tree standing nearby, put a small weight on the fishing line to see the bite.

In this article, we told you that it is easy to make a fishing rod with your own hands and from scrap materials, especially when there is a great desire to catch fish.
