The excitement about computers, sometimes playing chess better than humans, has long since vanished. More and more often, "smart machines" are used today only as intermediaries between living chess players, who are separated from each other by considerable distances.
Instructions
Step 1
Remember how chess was played by correspondence in the past. Try to play this game in a similar way today, with the only difference that the mail will be used not by regular mail, but by e-mail. You can also use instant messaging services for this purpose. Just remember to correctly and synchronously move both your pieces and your opponent's pieces on the board. Periodically remind each other of the current configuration of the pieces on the board so that you can quickly restore it if necessary.
Step 2
If you wish, arrange a "live broadcast" of the match. To do this, create a new IRC or Jabber conference and invite any number of "fans" to it. If you have your own forum, open a separate topic for "broadcasting". Do not arrange such "broadcasts" in other people's chats and forums without the permission of their owners, unless the resources are specifically designed for this. This way of playing largely disciplines its participants, since cheating, thanks to the presence of "spectators", is excluded.
Step 3
If you have the opportunity to use video communication, for example, via Skype, play chess over the Internet, pointing webcams not at yourself, but at your chessboards. Then just move the shapes on them in sync. It will be easier to play if you comment on all moves with your voice. Try recording an audio or video stream if desired. There are many auxiliary programs for this, but, unfortunately, those that are designed for Linux, only capture sound.
Step 4
The most convenient way to play chess is via the Internet, using specialized sites for this. Such resources are both free and paid. Find them by entering the query "internet chess" (without quotes) into the search engine, then choose among them the one that you like, and most importantly - it turned out to be compatible with your browser. Using any of these sites, you can play chess not only with friends, but also with randomly selected opponents from around the world.
