Draw 2 rectangles 13 cm wide and 27 cm long. Now prepare the pattern for the margins. Draw a circle with a diameter of 30 cm, inside draw another circle equal to the bottom of the hat. The inside of the drawing needs to be cut out. When preparing the stencils, paint on the edges of the rectangles 1 cm high. They are needed for a more convenient connection of parts. Sew a wire to the edge of the bottom and brim to help shape the hat.
Step 3
Using the templates obtained, cut the fabric for the upholstery and lining of the hat. Do not forget to leave 1 cm of allowance around the edges of the parts. Sew the lining and top pieces together one by one, leaving one side free to insert the cardboard template inside. Then turn the stitched element inside out to the right side, place a cardboard spacer in the middle and carefully sew the open edge. Connect all the pieces from the inside of the hat. To prevent the seams between the crown and brim from chafing on the forehead, sew over the area with tape or a strip of soft fabric. Bend the bottom and brim of the hat slightly inward, and the sewn-on wire will help you with this.
Step 4
Decorate your hat. To do this, sew the main outer seams of the hat with large stitches. On the lower edge of the crown, you can put on a leather strap or decorative braid. If you are making a hat for the New Year's party, make it out of red material and trim it with white fur. A hat made for a glamorous suit can be trimmed with several rows of sequins along the bottom edge of the crown.
