Instructions
Step 1
The most natural will look like a hat made of hard leatherette brown, light brown or black. First, make cardboard patterns that will also form the basis of your hat. Measure the circumference of your head.
Step 2
Cut out the brims of the hat from the cardboard. To do this, draw a circle on a piece of cardboard corresponding to the size of the head. Make the width of the brim of the hat on the sides about 20 cm. In the front and back of the brim, make small lengthenings. Cut out the resulting hat brim and delete the center circle.
Step 3
Cut a strip of cardboard about 20 cm high for the crown. Now you can start making a cowboy hat from leatherette. Fold a piece of leatherette in half with the right side inward. Lay the hat brim pattern over the fabric. Circle it with tailor's chalk and cut out with the seam allowance.
Step 4
Sew without splitting the two pieces together along the outer circumference close to the edge. Turn it over your face and insert your pattern inside the workpiece. Sew the ID straight over the right side. Along the outer and inner diameter of the brim of the hat, make decorative stitches with a contrasting color thread.
Step 5
Next, take the crown pattern and put it on a piece of leatherette that is also folded in half. It is more rational to arrange the pattern along the length to the fold. In other words, leave a seam allowance on the sides and bottom.
Step 6
Circle with chalk and cut out the desired section. Fold the sides and sew together on the wrong side. Then bend the workpiece with the wrong side inward. Glue the paper crown pattern on the sides.
Step 7
After the glue dries, insert its blank. Sew the risers together. Along the top and bottom lines of the crown, run decorative stitches with a thread of a contrasting color.
Step 8
Using the piece of cardboard that you got when cutting out the brim of the hat, cut a circle in one layer of leatherette a little larger in order to get the sagging effect later.
Step 9
Smear the edge of the leatherette circle on the front side and insert into the crown. Press gently with your fingers. Align the crown and brim details at the seams and sew along the inside. To prevent the resulting seam from interfering, use a piece of wide tape of the appropriate color and glue it, closing the seam.
Step 10
Once completely dry, you can fold the brim of the hat over the sides and touch up the crown of the hat. Wear a short belt over the crown or attach a decorative sheriff's badge.
