Any housewife can sew or knit original house slippers. The material for them will probably be found in the closet. Beautiful, but small pieces of dense fabric, old shoes, and remnants of thread are good for business. You can also use modern materials, such as paraplen or penofol. But in any case, a pattern is required. You can also do it yourself.
It is necessary
- - tape measure;
- - paper;
- - a piece of cardboard;
- - graph paper;
- - pencil.
Instructions
Step 1
To shape the sole, circle the foot. Place it on a piece of cardboard and trace with a pencil strictly along the contour. Keep the pencil upright, otherwise errors will result. Most people have slightly different feet, so circle both. Cut out the templates, fold them together with the heels aligned, and select the larger one.
Step 2
Use this pattern to make a pattern. Home slippers should be loose. Transfer the contour of the sole to graph paper, adding 0.5 - 1 cm on each side, depending on the style. If you want to make soft fur slippers (like the ones that adorn animal faces), add more. Exquisite slippers made of leather, brocade or, say, upholstery fabric are cut almost on the leg, with minimal increases. Build a sole pattern in any case. Even if you are going to use old soles, you will need insoles that are made according to the same pattern.
Step 3
For a top cut, measure from the end of your thumb to the most convex lift point. On a piece of graph paper, set aside this distance and put points A and B. On the sole, mark the end of the thumb from which you measured this distance and mark the point as A1. Overlay the sole pattern on the graph paper, aligning points A and A1. Trace the outline of the toe to the points where the top will end. Put points B and D. Connect them with point B with straight lines.
Step 4
Measure along the leg the distance from point B to the estimated points B and D. Both segments will turn out to be larger than on the existing pattern. It should be so. Set aside from point B these dimensions along the lines BV and BG and continue them to the desired distance. Put points B1 and G1.
Step 5
Connect points B1, A and G1 with a smooth line. Connect points B1, B and D1 with an arc, the convex part of which is directed towards the toe. Circle and cut out the pattern.
Step 6
Before you cut from fabric, count how many pieces of each type you need. It depends on the style of the slippers and the material from which you are going to sew. For slippers made of fabric, you need 4 parts of the sole, 2 insoles (cut according to the pattern of the sole, but without allowances), 2 parts of the lining, 4 parts of the top. Do not forget that the slippers should be symmetrical.
