Hats, especially summer hats, have always been in vogue. It was hats, not panamas. There are several ways to sew a summer hat.
It is necessary
Thick fabric, non-woven fabric, sewing accessories, braid
Instructions
Step 1
Here is the most common and uncomplicated way to make a summer hat. It is necessary to prepare a dense natural material from cotton or linen. A hat needs about 1 meter of fabric with a width of 1-1.5 meters. The fabric can be plain or colored. Also prepare a non-woven adhesive gasket.
Step 2
Remove the following dimensions before opening. Measure the circumference in centimeters around the head at a level slightly above the ears. The second size is the height from the tip of the ears to the crown of the head plus 2-3 centimeters for a loose fit.
Then draw a pattern of a circle, with a diameter according to the first measurement. Mark the circle into 5 equal parts. Draw a wedge pattern, where the base will be 1/5 of the circle, and draw the height according to the second dimension. Connect the wedge at the edges with a concave line. Thus, the wedge will be in the shape of a petal.
Step 3
Now you need to make a pattern for the brim of the hat. The fields are done as follows. Draw a circle for the first dimension plus 3 centimeters. Lay 6-8 centimeters perpendicular to the circumference. Along the marked point, draw another circle parallel to the first.
Place the wedge and brim pattern on the fabric folded in half. Cut out with allowances for seams along the cuts one centimeter at a time. As a result, you will get 10 wedges and two details of the cap fields.
Step 4
Glue all parts with a non-woven gasket. The flizelin is cut out exactly according to the patterns of the wedge and fields. But only the upper part of the cap is glued. That is, one detail of the fields and five wedges. Glue the gasket with a hot iron.
After half an hour, you can start sewing. First sew all gasket-glued wedges, then wedges without gasket. You get 2 hats. Then put the fields on top of each other, sew along a large circle, turn out, iron. Sew the cap with padding to the brim with padding. Insert a wedge cap without a lining into the top cap with seams to each other. Sew the bottom hat carefully on the hands to the bottom brim.
Step 5
Give the hat a shape with your hands, sweep the stitching of the fields at the seams and carefully sew through with small stitches. Iron the finished hat. You can decorate the finished hat with a beautiful braid, bows. You can sew the inside of the hat from a contrasting or printed colored fabric.
