The knitted hat looks very stylish, while it is practical and comfortable. It is quite easy to start knitting, but not every needlewoman succeeds in finishing neatly, so that the hat sits exactly on the head. There are several ways to close a knitted hat.

Instructions
Step 1
When you knit the main part of the cap, define the rows of cuts. To do this, count the loops, divide the resulting number into 6-8 parts (if you need a pointed hat, divide by 4). Then mark each selected row with a thin colored thread using a needle.
Step 2
Continue to knit the hat in a circle, but at the same time, subtract the loops in the marked rows. To do this, knit a loop from this row along with the next loop, each time with a front loop. As a result, you will have neat stripes that converge towards the top of the cap.
Step 3
When 6-8 loops remain on the needles (all rows will come together), cast them on one knitting needle and use a needle or hook to thread the thread through them. Cut the end of the thread, leaving a few centimeters, tighten, tie and hide the end to the wrong side.
Step 4
If, due to the pattern, there are too many loops left or the hat is tied from thick yarn, and as a result, after tightening, an ugly hole forms in the center, proceed as follows. In the front row, knit all the loops, knitting two together, but alternating such double loops with crochets. Then cut the end of the thread, leaving a few centimeters, thread it into the needle and sew the loops, dropping the yarn over the knitting needle. Pull the thread, tie and hide the end, you will see that the loops have folded into a beautiful flower.
Step 5
Another way to finish the hat: when you get to the top of the head, knit a whole row, halving the number of loops, knitting every two loops together. Tie a new row according to the pattern, then reduce the number of loops again. Thus, reduce the hat until there are 6-8 loops, which will be easy to collect on a thread and pull off. Please note that this method is not suitable for complex vertical patterns.
Step 6
If you are knitting a hat with braids or a similar vertical pattern, cut this way: first knit two stitches next to the braids, so that the braids themselves remain intact for as long as possible. Remember that in each row there should be 6-10 loops less, try to cut symmetrically. When it becomes difficult to reduce the background between the braids, grab the main elements of the pattern and try to decrease the loops so as not to disturb the harmony.
