There are still houses in which the water supply and sewerage system passes through old iron, sometimes rusted pipes. The moment comes when they need to be urgently replaced. The best replacement for old iron pipes is plastic pipes. This material has many advantages: high strength, it does not corrode, it is resistant to temperature extremes and damage. Plastic pipes can be easily replaced if necessary. They are flexible and lightweight, there are many options for shapes and configurations, so you can easily find the option you want.
Instructions
Step 1
Plastic pipes are connected using couplings. But sometimes they have to be soldered. In this case, the pipe connection turns out to be beautiful and harmonious. If you do not have the opportunity to contact professionals, then try to solder the pipes yourself.
Step 2
For these works you will need: an electric welding machine and nozzles of different sizes, scissors for cutting plastic or a hacksaw, a ruler and a marker. Attach the heating nozzles of the required size to the welding machine. Set the temperature mode on the regulator to 250-270 degrees.
Step 3
Measure the length you need on the pipe. Cut it, grind the edges. It is better to cut at an angle. The angle can be 30-45 degrees. Place a mark on the tube to the depth of the fitting so that when you solder, the tube will enter the desired depth into the fitting.
Step 4
Do not push the pipe into the socket of the fitting until it stops. When all the necessary cuts and markings have been completed, degrease the surface. Push the fitting tightly onto the heated nozzle, then the pipe to your mark.
Step 5
Start counting the heating time from the moment when the pipe fitting is put on the nozzle. Do not turn parts during heating. Remove the pipe and fitting from the nozzle and connect with an even and slow motion to the depth to the mark, but, again, do not turn them.
Step 6
Until the seam has cooled, secure the pipe to the fitting for 30 seconds. Check for gaps and evenness of the joint. That's the whole welding procedure.
