The changing table will become the best friend of a young mother in the first months of her baby's life. Of course, you can change your child's clothes on a regular bed, but on a special table you will always have everything you need at hand, besides, you will save the spinal muscles from constant overload. You can make a changing table on your own using improvised means.
It is necessary
- - old chest of drawers 85-90 cm high and at least 40 cm deep
- - Chipboard as wide as a chest of drawers
- - a layer of foam rubber with a width of a chest of drawers and a thickness of 4-6 cm
- - oilcloth
- - glue for foam rubber
- - furniture stapler
- - self-adhesive strong Velcro fasteners
Instructions
Step 1
Measure the width of the chest of drawers, ask the building materials store to cut out chipboard for you with a width of a chest of drawers and a length of 60-70 cm, or do it yourself.
Step 2
Try on the foam rubber to the resulting slab, cut it to its size, adding 2 cm on each side. Do the same with the oilcloth, leaving 20 cm for allowances.
Step 3
Apply a layer of glue to the hob, which is most convenient if you buy the glue in the form of a spray. Put the foam rubber on top, press it down carefully over the entire surface, leave it for a while to set.
Step 4
Wrap the oilcloth around the resulting structure, pull it well, attach it on the back with a stapler.
Step 5
Separate the Velcro straps, glue one part to the chest of drawers, the other to the back of the changing board. With the help of an assistant, secure the board to the dresser so that the protruding end is behind the table.
Step 6
Leave the table alone for at least 24 hours to allow the Velcro glue to adhere well to the surfaces of the dresser and board. If the board is a little uneven, you can always correct its position by removing and attaching it to all the same fasteners.
